Milan - Istanbul
Istanbul: in the traces of Ohran Pamuk Orhan Pamuk’s novel Istanbul is a narration trough the personal and collective memories along the Bosphorus: places, names, episodes situations along centuries appear to the surface of history like a melancholic series of images full of poetic loneliness and desolation. The Istanbul of Orhan Pamuk is a town where every itinerary looks back to the past like a map drown in a blue poetry where the sadness il plus value of the beauty of the city itself. The Istanbul of Orhan Pamuk like often in the literature is a town only evocated, it doesn’t exist anymore except by fragments and apparitions. My work start from this point, find those fragments and apparitions, not just a straight itinerary, for a cultivated turist, but a series of images linked to complexity that emerge on Pamuk narration, his sense of dramatic sense of history and melancholia that Istanbul brings inside beside as an inextinguishable mark beside every possible definition in the contemporary geopolitical geography.
